You could be forgiven for thinking I’m a bit Valentine’s obsessed, after all this is my second Valentine’s Day themed recipe in a row! It is that time of year though, and I am a sucker for a good theme – especially when I can make cute heart shaped desserts and throw in lots of pink. I love it even more if I can make specially portioned desserts, they’re just too cute. Truth be told, I’m probably not going to be doing anything for Valentine’s Day myself (we’ll see though), but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy creating desserts for the occasion! Chocolate Orange Cheesecake Brownies

Delicious and fudgy chocolate orange brownies with a chocolate orange cheesecake top layer! Perfectly chocolately with that creamy cheesecake layer that melts into the brownie!

Chocolate Oranges are my Achilles heel, my weak spot! I don’t buy them often because I can sit and eat an entire one before I even realise I’ve opened it! But when they’re on sale I can’t help but grab one or two, and I’ve been very good and had three in my kitchen for a few months – waiting to be baked with – and I didn’t sneak a taste at all! I’m very proud of myself. I don’t know what took me so long to bake with them, I did have them hidden away too so I wouldn’t tempt myself, so they weren’t at the front of my mind.

Strawberry and Chili Cheesecake Empanadas

Buttery, flaky pie crust with a sweet and spicy cheesecake filling! Dessert empanadas are easy to make and so delicious, everyone will love them!

I love going into the town centre around the end of the week because it’s when all the market stalls are there, with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables for way cheaper than at the supermarket, and much better quality too. They also have stalls with all kinds of other things, but I don’t usually pay much attention to them. However, last month I was there and a jam and preserves stall caught my eye and I had to go have a little look. All the jams looked so yummy and I was very intrigued by some of the flavours. After a lovely conversation with the lady that runs the stall and sampling lots of delicious jams, I came away with two pots of strawberry and chili jam. Thanks Poppy’s Preserves (I did ask for a website or facebook to link to but she doesn’t have one unfortunately).

Have you guys been watching Daredevil? If not, you need to, now! It’s sooooo good! It is a Netflix show, but honestly it’s worth signing up for it just for that show. You don’t just have to take my word for it, the whole world seems to be raving about it right now, and for good reason! I’m not talking about this because my blog has suddenly become a bad TV review blog, but because it explains why I have only just finished editing the photos for this post… at almost 1am! I sit at my computer and I think “I should edit those photos…. or I could watch another episode of Daredevil!”, and as you can guess Matt Murdoch has been winning! I’ve only got a couple episodes left to watch though so here I am, edited photos and all!
