Margaritas are great, there’s a very good reason that they’re so popular – it’s a simple and delicious formula that will always be a good choice. But, why not shake things up a little (literally), and swap out your margarita this Cinco de Mayo for an amazing tequila cocktail that is just as easy and delicious, but a little bit different.

Are you a Valentine’s Day lover, or would you prefer to kick it to the curb this year? Whatever your feelings about this particular holiday, you’ll definitely want to be buying flowers and chocolate for The Scarlett Heart – it’s a Valentine’s Day Cocktail we’ll want to whisper sweet nothings too! The name of this Valentine’s Day Cocktail draws inspiration from the classic book and movie, Gone with the Wind. But, confession time – I’ve never actually seen the movie or read the book, but I have passed the Margaret Mitchell House many times, that counts right?! Y’all, I love donuts. Is there anybody who doesn’t love donuts. And look, I love cutting down on some calories with baked donuts as much as the next guy but if I’m having a serious donut craving it’s gotta be deep fried or it just won’t cut it. Since developing a gluten intolerance, real fried donuts have felt pretty much off limits. I mean, how often do you see gluten free donuts in a bakery? And adding the gluten free challenge to the yeast beast? Gah, scary, right?! Well, that’s what I thought.  But I’m happy to admit I was very wrong!

I’m really not a fan of holidays that change date each year, y’know why? Because I am a disorganised mess and I forget it about. So yup, I have left my Easter recipe until the last minute! I know, I know, I can’t really blame the change of date since it’s not exactly a secret. I mean, in theory we can know every Easter until the end of time – for example, did you know that Easter Sunday in the year 2100 will be on March 28th ? – mark your calendars now! Yet, I am using the changing date of Easter each year as an excuse for why I am posting my Easter treat recipe with less than two weeks to go – and I’m sticking to it!

It’s my birthday!! Yay! Today I turn 21 *ahem* plus 10 years *ahem*!

I was not particularly thrilled about turning 30 last year, but this last year turned out to be pretty awesome. I started a new job, some really awesome new people came into my life, I moved to a really gorgeous area of London, and I’ve baked some delicious treats and mixed some amazing cocktails. That’s a pretty good year by my books!
