High ‘n’ Dry Mocktail

A sophisticated mocktail that won’t make you feel like you are missing out. It’s perfect for Dry January, for guests who don’t drink alcohol, or just for when you’re feeling like something fancy and low abv (or no abv in this case!)

The Mocktail

Mocktails often get a bad rap as, in a pub or bar, they often just amount to an overpriced glass of juice! If you’re hosting a party or get together, don’t leave your guests who aren’t drinking with the boring choice of water or soda – make them a real mocktail that has all the balance and taste of a cocktail, just minus the alcohol. They’ll love you for it! It’s also a great choice for those of you who are doing Dry January, Sober October, or just trying to cut down – you won’t feel like you’re missing out with the lack of booze!

Hey there – it’s been a while, huh? Since I last posted, the blog has gone through a rebranding – Giraffes Can Bake is now A Tipsy Giraffe! Switching from baking to all cocktails has been a long time coming, and it’s been in full swing over on my Instagram for a few months now, and I have been having so much fun with it. I still bake of course, but my passion lies with mixology and I just want to share that with you and the world! Don’t worry, all my baking recipes are still available and always will be – you can find them here

I’ve posted a tonne of cocktail recipes over on my Instagram, and while I do plan to get them all up on the blog eventually it is going to take a little while as I don’t currently have my own computer (this is the main reason the blog has been quiet) – so do make sure you head over to my Instagram to check out what I have been getting up to and see all the amazing cocktails I have shared. I’ve also started doing cocktail videos, so checkout my IGTV page to see those.

From tacos, to breakfast, to cocktails, to desserts, and more! Today, some amazing bloggers and I are celebrating Meghan and the birth of her baby boy (make sure you check out the other’s bloggers recipe at the end of this post) with a Virtual Baby Shower Brunch! Since we can’t throw her one in person, and we really wanted mark this wonderful occasion, a Virtual Baby Shower seemed like the next best thing. As a food blogger, and a woman, I am so grateful to have these wonderful ladies in my life to support me and and lift me up (in both blog life and the rest of my life) – I honestly couldn’t do this blogging thing without them! So, when one of our own brings a new life into the world, we have to celebrate together!

Congratulations Meghan and Mr Briar, you’re going to make the best parents, and we sure know this little bundle of cuteness is going to be fed very well!

The Campanella – a Paloma Cocktail Variation

The Campanella is a delicious, Italian Paloma Cocktail Variation that is a little bitter and a little sweet – it’s the perfect cocktail to sip on this Cinco de Mayo and all throughout the summer.

Margaritas are great, there’s a very good reason that they’re so popular – it’s a simple and delicious formula that will always be a good choice. But, why not shake things up a little (literally), and swap out your margarita this Cinco de Mayo for an amazing tequila cocktail that is just as easy and delicious, but a little bit different.

When it comes to a regular cocktail, I like them bitter and/or sour – it’s not often I will go for the sweet option. But when it comes dessert cocktails, I throw that rule out of the window and I fall in love with the sweet deliciousness! This Mini Egg Chocolate Martini is no different, it’s having your dessert and drinking it too (that’s how that old adage goes, right?!).
