Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a Rose and Raspberry cocktail, made with Belvedere vodka, rose liqueur, lemon juice, raspberry syrup, and an egg white. It’s sweet, slightly floral, and a little bit tart. This Rose and Raspberry cocktail is an easy, elegant drink to serve for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or any celebration!
Confession time, I’ve never actually seen the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s! I know, it’s appalling. It’s just one of those movies I’ve always meant to see, but never actually gotten around to it. I will get there one day, I am sure. In the mean time, I will just sip on these delicious Breakfast at Tiffany’s cocktails and be happy I at least have these amazing rose and raspberry cocktails in my life!
You may be wondering why I made a cocktail called Breakfast at Tiffany’s if I haven’t seen the movie. I can’t lay claim to the name of this rose and raspberry cocktail, nor can I for the ingredients. For my mum’s 60th birthday we took her to AquaShard, which is the bar in The Shard (you know, that very tall , pointy building near London Bridge), for cocktails before we went to see DreamGirls on the West End. The cocktail I had was called Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and it was amazing I just had to recreate it at home!
And so this pretty pink rose and raspberry cocktail was born. Of course, I don’t have AquaShard’s recipe so I had to figure out the measurements and all that on my own. After some testing (it’s a tough job being me) I got the recipe down, and so now I can share this lovely rose and raspberry cocktail with you wonderful people.
The Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a really elegant cocktail, it looks sophisticated and comes out such a pretty colour. It would be perfect for your next girls night, or perhaps to serve at baby shower, wedding shower, fancy brunch, or picnic. And not only is it delicious and gorgeous to look at, it’s really simple to make this rose and raspberry cocktail. You just put everything in a cocktail shaker and shake it up until the egg whites are foamy – this is called a dry shake, by not adding ice at first it helps the egg whites incorporate with the other ingredients and foam up better. Then add a little ice and shake again until chilled. And you’re done, strain it into a glass, garnish with some freeze dried raspberries, and serve.
Now, I know some people are a bit put off by using raw egg whites in a cocktail. And I get it, we’re constantly told raw eggs are dangerous, and while there is a risk it’s not a very big one, we’ve been using raw eggs in drinks for a very long time. The best ways to stay safe when using raw egg whites in your cocktails are to make sure you use fresh eggs – if you’re in the US they need to be refrigerated at all times (this is not the case in the UK as we process our eggs differently). If you’re in the UK make sure you eggs have the British Lion Seal, in the US you want the USDA stamp. If you’re still not convinced, you can use pasteurised eggs that you can buy in a carton, they may not get quite as foamy as fresh egg whites but they’ll do the trick just fine. And make sure you never get raw eggs to young children, the elderly, pregnant people, and those with compromised immune systems (two of those in that list should not be having this cocktail either way!!).

Breakfast at Tiffany's - A Rose and Raspberry Cocktail
Yield 1 Cocktail
A Rose and Raspberry Cocktail. An easy and elegant vodka cocktail that is perfect for your next girls night, baby shower, wedding shower, brunch or dinner party
- 1 oz (30 ml) Belvedere Vodka
- 1 oz (30 ml) Rose Liqueur
- 1 oz (30 ml) Raspberry Syrup*
- 1 oz (30 ml) Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
- Freeze Dried Raspberries for garnish
- Put the vodka, rose liqueur, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and egg white into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for at least 25 seconds, until egg whites are foamy.
- Add ice and shake until chilled, about 5 seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with crumbled freeze dried raspberries
