Your favourite Easter chocolate as you've never seen it before! Cadbury Creme Eggs are deep fried in fluffy, crispy batter. A sinfully, gooey, dessert that feels so wrong, but tastes so right!

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the batter in a large bowl until smooth. Leave covered at room temperature while you prepare the oil.
  2. Heat the oil to 180C/360F
  3. Put the frozen Creme Eggs in the batter and use a spoon or fork to help get them completely covered.
  4. Line a large plate or board with a couple of layers of kitchen towel.
  5. Use kitchen tongs or a metal slotted spoon to remove the eggs from the batter and very carefully drop into the hot oil. Fry for approximately three minutes, until a deep golden brown.
  6. You can do two or three at a time, but it's best to do them in small batches so the oil doesn't cool down (you'll end up with greasy batter if it's not hot enough!).
  7. Remove the deep fried creme eggs from the oil and place on the kitchen towel lined plate (this helps soak up some of the excess oil).
  8. Transfer them to your serving plate, dust with icing sugar and drizzle with chocolate syrup if using.
  9. Serve immediately.
