The Cupid’s Cup – a Pisco Sour Variation

The Cupid’s Cup is a delicious variation of the Pisco Sour. This simple pisco drink is a little sour and a little bitter, the perfect balance that you’ll fall head over heels in love with! Move over Pisco Sour, the Cupid’s Cup is here to stay!

The Cupid's Cup - a Pisco Sour Variation - two orange coloured cocktails in coupe glasses, white foam on top

Have you tried pisco before?  If you haven’t, you need to mix up this pisco sour recipe variation ASAP so you can fall in love with it. If you have, no doubt you’re already in love with pisco, so you should also definitely mix up this cocktail as soon as you can! Pisco is a grape brandy and can only be made in either Peru or Chile (both strongly claim it belongs to them, and most pisco lovers have a preference. It can become quite a heated topic so I shall leave it at that!). Pisco has a smooth taste with hints of grape and apple, it also has a light herbal earthiness to it that I would liken to tequila – however Pisco is definitely unique and any comparison to another spirit will certainly fail.

Oh boy, have I got an amazing treat for you today! This Hazelnut Italian Hot Chocolate is honestly one of the most delicious drinks I have ever had in my life. It is a seriously thick hot chocolate recipe, that is so indulgent you’ll feel like you’re drinking melted chocolate, but so much better! I actually developed the recipe for this thick Italian Hot Chocolate last spring, and while the recipe was amazing and definitely worth sharing, the photos did not do it justice and I really needed to show you how damn good this Italian Hot Chocolate really was. But then summer came and it was too warm, and then life happened and, well, you know how it goes!

Are you a Valentine’s Day lover, or would you prefer to kick it to the curb this year? Whatever your feelings about this particular holiday, you’ll definitely want to be buying flowers and chocolate for The Scarlett Heart – it’s a Valentine’s Day Cocktail we’ll want to whisper sweet nothings too! The name of this Valentine’s Day Cocktail draws inspiration from the classic book and movie, Gone with the Wind. But, confession time – I’ve never actually seen the movie or read the book, but I have passed the Margaret Mitchell House many times, that counts right?! But as The Scarlett Heart combines some wonderful southern flavours and has a gorgeous red hue, a southern love story about a woman named Scarlett just seemed like the perfect place to draw inspiration from.

Hold on to your knickers, loves! Giraffes Can Bake has a healthy recipe for you! Whaaaa?! Don’t worry, this is still your best source for indulgent desserts, but whilst buttery cakes and boozy cocktails may be my forte, even I need a healthy dose of vitamins every now in then! In fact, despite all the delicious treats I make and share with you, I actually try and eat quite healthily in my day to day life. I certainly don’t deny myself indulgent, tasty treats like the ones I share here (I mean, somebody has to taste test the recipes!) – I’m big believer in everything in moderation. So I’ll try to eat healthy and nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then treat myself to a glass of wine and a slice or two of cake in the evenings. Sometimes, the indulgent side of the scale will heavily outweigh the healthy side, but I’m okay with that!
